Rad Dox iFind
About · Radiologist recruiters since 2006

Who we are, and what we stand for.

A direct-hire search firm built for one specialty — radiology. Two decades of senior-led, hands-on placements, and a set of values we don't compromise on.

The beginning

It grew out of a favor.

In the late 1990s, founder Rich Smith — already an established corporate recruiter — began helping radiologists in training find their first positions, pro bono. What started as happenstance revealed something the industry was missing: radiologists were being recruited by generalists who didn't understand radiology.

In 2006 he formalized that work into a firm dedicated entirely to radiologists. Two decades later we've grown — but stayed deliberately hands-on. Every search is still led personally, from first call to signed contract.

  3. TODAY
    Two decades, still hands-on

Senior-led searches, never a volume agency.

Our approach

It comes down to relationships and specificity.

A neuroradiologist weighing an academic post, a breast imager on a partnership track, and a generalist after a remote role are three very different searches — and we treat them that way.

Both sides, up front

With groups: case mix, volumes, call structure, technology, culture. With radiologists: subspecialty fit, schedule, family, geography, goals.

The market, year-round

We track compensation trends, subspecialty demand, and the shift toward remote and hybrid reading — so decisions run on current data.

The right fit, not the fast one

Success is a radiologist still glad they moved five years later — and a group made stronger by the hire.

What we stand for

Four values, on every search.

01 · Inclusion

Radiologists of every background and training path — U.S. and internationally trained, new fellows and late-career — and organizations from solo imaging centers to national systems. Different points of view make better matches.

02 · Integrity

We say what we mean and do what we say. These searches are confidential by nature — many candidates are employed and quietly exploring — so no résumé is ever presented without your permission.

03 · Knowledge

We're insatiably curious about the radiology market — compensation benchmarks, supply and demand, teleradiology trends, what's happening inside groups at the grassroots level — and we share it openly.

04 · Performance

We never settle for the status quo or the “next available” candidate. We measure ourselves against a five-year standard: the right move for the physician, a stronger practice for the group.

Our ethics

For us, ethics is also empathy — we know what the right position means to a radiologist, and what the right hire means to a group.

Integrity has been central since 2006, and it's why radiologists and hiring organizations keep coming back. People want to work with a firm they can feel good about.
